Squirrels and Tenacity
As I sit looking out my
window I can see a little squirrel feverishly attempting to obtain food from a
bird feeder we provided for our flying visitors. The squirrel climbs up into
the tree in shimmies down the short hanger to reach the feeder. He then hangs upside
down, holds on by his bottom paws and attempts to eat. What I find
interesting is that he takes him about ten minutes to reach the feeder but it takes
the black birds or I only seconds to scare him off. He lands on the ground and is forced to
repeat this whole procedure again and again. This morning I witnessed this
process about 10 times. How exhausting it must be, but he just doesn’t give up.
I wish I was like the squirrel
sometimes when the going gets difficult and I feel rejected. When things are difficult I want to just give up. But we need to put our faith and trust
wholeheartedly in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He will give us courage,
wisdom, and direction if we just listen for his still small voice.

thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:
for the Lord thy God is with
thee whithersoever thou goest.

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have

Amen.
