I enjoy quietly waiting and spending time with God alone and with him in prayer, worship, and in His word each morning. In Isaiah 40:31 we learn spending time with God does so much to restore our minds, bodies, and emotions more than anything else we could do. If I set aside time early each morning and insist on my quiet time alone with God my attitude and health are much better. In my quiet time God gives me empowerment to face everything I have to do with a renewed mind, emotional health, physical, and spiritual strength.
Isaiah 40:31 "But those who wait for the Lord shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift up their wings an mount up as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. (NIV)
I thank God each morning for His wonderful and abundant mercy. His mercy is renewed each morning. (Lamentations 3: 22, 23) Without his mercy, compassion, and willingness to forgive us we would live miserable and defeated lives separated from him.
I'm so thankful for a fresh start each new day in his grace. When we admit our mistakes and repent we will receive forgiveness and his loving mercy.
Take the time to bask in the light of His Love.

Lessons from Thomas
I have been thinking a lot about this Easter season. I have been reflecting on the Disciples and Thomas. What it must have been like to be present at that time.
Would I be like Thomas after three days had gone by? (John 20: 19-23)If I hadn't been there when he returned would I believe the other disciples or have to see for myself. (John 20: 24) Would I have to put my hands on his scars and suddenly realize that my Lord and my God is alive. (John 20:28) But Jesus commended Thomas him for his faith even though he had to see to believe.
Would I just fall to my knees and worship him? Would I leave everything behind to follow him? Would I do anything to be with the man who saves my life?
So how do we avoid doubting like Thomas? When we experience doubt we need to take it to God in prayer. (Mark 9:17-27) We also need to put on the "full armor of God" (Ephesians 6:10-19).
What would it have been like to be there the night the soldiers came in to take him away. Would I have tried to do something or would I have run away in fear. How would it have been to witness the horrible suffering of Jesus and then watch him on the cross, thinking it was the end. What would I do, how would I feel?)
